Disclaimer
Meridian Homestay is careful to select honest host families. Each home is inspected for suitability to host a student. Even so, Meridian Homestay cannot be held responsible for the actions of the host family.
Hosts are advised
Should something go wrong and a student slips in your house and sues you for damages, you are probably not covered by your standard home & contents insurance. That is, you may be liabilable for hundred of thousands of dollars, or more.
We strongly suggest HomestayHost Insurance-plus. This insurance is available by calling 1800 88 11 34 or visiting: www.homestayhostinsuranceplus.com. The cost is $100 to $110 per year (inclusive) and covers liability, damage to your contents by Students, other benefits and not limited by the number of students a Host has. You will need to quote Meridian Homestay's HomeStay Host Group Number: NSW07.
Please note: $30 Inspection and Administration fee is payable by the host to Meridian Homestay for the initial meeting with Meridian, which is conducted at the host's residence. This fee will be deducted from the first homestay payment.
